The identity between “Verum” et “Factum” will furthermore explain Vico’s evaluation of the limits of human knowledge, on the one hand on the other hand, this identity will transfer our attention to the science being, in Vico’s opinion, the proper science for human knowledge, that is, history. My exposition will begin with the analysis of Vico’s identification between “Verum” et “Factum”, with the analysis of the theological roots of this identity, and with the criticism of Descartes connected to this identity. For my investigation I will manly refer to Vico’ works “On the Most Ancient Wisdom of the Italians Unearthed from the Origins of the Latin Language” and on “The New Science”. Moreover, I will aim at explaining Vico’s conception of the individual responsibility regarding the defence of the reached degree of civilization against all perils and dangers of falling into a barbarian attitude. The aim of my analysis will consist in showing the role Vico attributes to philosophy as the discipline that ought to morally educate and to morally edify human beings connected to this subject I will investigate Vico’s evaluation of Plato’s metaphysics as a value metaphysics.
